Somewhere in the Welsh hills there is a peat bog, and once a year hundreds of people in flippers and snorkels - many in elaborate fancy dress - swim two lengths of it as fast as humanly possible, using nothing but leg power since conventional swimming strokes are banned. It's been the Guinness World Record holder for longest-running event of its kind since 1985, and it is exactly as muddy and joyful as it sounds.
